Our Process of Recycling

How Does Recycling Work?

Royal Waste’s Material Recycling Facility offers creative and cost-effective solutions for waste management while driving innovations in recycling. Our state-of-the-art complex utilizes a Single Stream Process for separation and recycling, which simplifies the process by allowing plastic, paper, and metal to be collected together. This streamlined approach ensures that recycling is accessible and convenient for everyone. At Royal Waste, we prioritize quality control to maximize recovery rates, ensuring materials are efficiently collected for reuse. These recovered raw commodities are repurposed to produce a wide variety of new products, such as bottles, cans, cardboard boxes, tissue paper, newspapers, and even textiles. By enabling manufacturers to create more with fewer resources, recycling significantly reduces energy consumption and lowers greenhouse gas emissions. Together, we can contribute to a more sustainable, eco-friendly future for our planet.

Clean every item

Clean items are crucial to avoid contamination during transportation.

Recycling Collection

When recycle containers are full, they are then collected at a curbside, multi-family dwelling, or business.

Recycling facility (MRF)

Materials are sorted and organized by material types, then inspected for final quality control clean-up before being baled (compressed) together and staged for sale to end markets.

Battery Disposal

Incorrect Battery Disposal Can Cause Fires

Common household or business items seem harmless, however, the batteries in them pose risks when disposed into regular garbage or recycling containers because of their highly flammable nature.

  • Remove the batteries

Check the electronic devices you need to dispose of. If possible, remove the batteries. If not, bring the whole device to a drop off location.
  • Store batteries in a safe place

Store batteries in non-metallic containers (plastic, cardboard, or glass) that do not conduct electricity if there is a spark.
  • Find your local drop off

Find a local electronic disposal store, or find a drop off location near you here: https://www.call2recycle.org/locator/
